Our half days have become STEAM days. This STEAM challenge goes along with what we have been learning in math. The kids were given two items; marshmellows and toothpicks. They were asked to make a 2D or flat shape. They came up with squares, triangles, rectangles, rhombuses, and even a hexagon. Then, they were asked to make the shape into a 3D or solid shape. They turned their shapes into cubes, rectangular prisms, and pyramids. I love any chance we get for hands on learning. As you can see from the pictures, geometry is fun!
