Reading

I can listen to a story.

I can talk about and answer questions about a story.

I can describe the character and setting in a story. 

I can retell a story to include a beginning, middle, and end.

I can identify a simple fact in nonfiction text.

Writing

I can draw pictures about experiences.

I can write my first and last name.

I can write the uppercase and lowercase letters of the alphabet. 

I can write a simple sentence with a capital at the beginning, finger spaces, and period.

Math

I can count from 0 to 100. 

I can count backwards from 10 to 0.

I can count 10 objects.

I can select a numeral and make a set.

I can sort shapes based on at least one attribute.

I can identify shapes (triangle, square, rectangle, circle).

I can identify a penny, nickel, dime, and quarter.

I can identify parts of a set and region in halves and fourths.  

I can count from 0 to 100.

I can identify what 2 parts make up a whole number up to 10.

Social Studies

I can learn about the rules of the classroom.

I can tell what it means to be a good citizen.

I can tell what maps are and what they are used for.

Science

I can sort objects by being attracted and not attracted to magnets. 

I can predict where a stream of water will flow.

I can tell what it means to reduce, reuse, and recycle. 

I can tell facts about frogs and butterflies and their life cycles. 

I can tell facts about plants and their needs.
