Apple STEAM Lesson - Johnietta Appleseed

On October 13, Mrs. Patterson visited our classroom. She read a cute, interactive story called Tap the Magic Tree. It talked about the different stages of the apple tree through the seasons. Students were each given their own apple with the core pulled out. Before she gave them their own apples, she demonstrated how to use the coring tool. Once they were given their own apples, they picked out the seeds from their core. Then, they were to count their seeds from their individual apples. After that, they were able to eat their apples. Mrs. Patterson explained that the seeds needed to be dried out and then she would put them in the refridgerator to give them a mock winter. The class really enjoyed the interactive story and eating their apples. Thank you for visiting, Mrs. Patterson!!
