On Thursday, we had our first STEAM half day. We read The Three Little Pigs and talked about how we were going to be engineers again. First, each group had to draw their design on a piece of paper. Then, they were given different supplies (pipe cleaner, paper plate, paper cups, popcycle sticks, yarn, and tape) and asked to build a house as a team. Each house was supposed to have a roof, walls, and a door. The goal was for the teams to build a house that couldn't be blown down by Mrs. Greene and myself. This STEAM challenge was more difficult than that first, but each group had fun making their houses. We loved seeing what they came up with and none of the houses were able to be blown down. I'd say it was a success!
