We read Big Smelly Bear today. We learned that Bear had a problem. He had an itch he just couldn't reach, but he didn't want to take a bath. He tried to itch his back, but nothing was working. This year with our STEAM initative, we decided that the kids should become engineers and design something to help Bear out. We gave them a few supplies and they had to engineer a back scratcher that Bear could use to reach his itch. The kids worked with their tables to come up with their back scratcher. They learned how to work together as a team and how to become engineers for the day. It was a fun Friday!
